Crowns and bridges are dental procedures that can restore damaged, discolored, malpositioned, or missing teeth. Used to repair or replace teeth dating back to the ancient Egyptians, modern dentistry now allows these procedures to be quick, easy, and comfortable.
Cerec Same-Day Crowns
We understand that everyone's lives are busy - who wants to take time off for the dentist instead of using it for a vacation? For that reason, we'd like to introduce Cerec same-day crowns!
Instead of the typical crown that will take two appointments, Cerec crowns can be made while you wait in the dental chair!
First appearing in 1985, CAD/CAM dentistry has been fine-tuned to the point where it has revolutionized dentistry not only for dentists but patients as well. Computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) uses digital technology and software to make your dental restoration a reality the same day you walk into the office.
The two biggest reasons why our patients love Cerec crowns:
- First, no messy impressions! After your dentist prepares your tooth for a crown, he will use a digital handpiece to make a 3D image of your tooth. That information is sent to our 'mill' where your crown is carved from a solid block of material.
- The second reason our patients love Cerec crowns is because there is no temporary! The crown is made while you wait. Typically, impressions are made of your teeth and sent to a lab where it can take three or more weeks to make the crown. With Cerec, you'll never have to wear a temporary crown again - you will leave that day with your permanent, beautiful crown.
Once the digital scan is made and the mill starts to carve your crown, you are free to do whatever you like. You can go run errands, go home, watch your crown be created, or you can just choose to relax and watch your favorite shows in one of our comfortable chairs. Cerec crowns only take a little while to create and install, and you will leave our office with a fully restored and functional smile!

Bridges
If you are missing a tooth and the doctor determines you are not a candidate for a dental implant, a dental bridge will be recommended for you.
Typically a bridge will be made by making crowns for the teeth on either side of the missing tooth gap and a pontic (false tooth) will be placed in the middle, 'bridging the gap'. The procedure for the bridge is the same as for crowns due to this technique.
