Community Service

Here at The Smile Shoppe we are passionate for the community we live in, and work daily to give back in any way we can. Dr. Altadonna and staff are involved in a number of local and state-wide charities, many of which are focused on providing dental care to people who do not have adequate access to treatment. Seeing the smiles on our new friends' faces is all we ask for in return!

 

The Smile Shoppe participates in the following events and organizations:
Give Kids A Smile, Smiles & Salutes, Donated Dental Services, Mission of Mercy, Highland Street Art Fest, L.U.N.C.H. Bunch, Highland Food Pantry, Thanksgiving and Christmas Drives, Treats on the Streets, Candy Buy-Back, Operation Gratitude, Free School Exams, Sponsorship of Local Sports Teams, Free Football Mouthguard Service,

Give Kids a Smile

The Smile Shoppe was the first dental office in Highland to participate in Give Kids A Smile (formerly Have a Heart Day) over 30 years ago!

This event is the one that our team-members most look forward to every year. Each February, The Smile Shoppe opens its doors to underprivileged youth in the community to provide free dental care. On average, we are able to provide dentistry to 30 kids each year that would not be able to visit a dentist otherwise.

Smiles & Salutes

Smiles & Salutes is an event we put on each November, benefitting and honoring our nation's heroes.

We are deeply saddened that our veterans are not always provided the oral health care they need and deserve. At our Smiles & Salutes event we provide FREE dental services for those who served. Veterans can reserve an appointment for a routine hygiene cleaning or any other dental care they need, and all of the treatment they receive is absolutely free of charge. If you or a loved one has served in our military, you can contact us to request an appointment at this event.

Donated Dental Services

The Smile Shoppe is thrilled to participate in Donated Dental Services. DDS is an organization that links people in need with dental offices that care.

The DDS program helps provide free treatment to members of our community that are unable to afford the care they need. As a participating office, we provide comprehensive oral health treatments to anyone sent to our office via DDS. In order to qualify for these services, you must apply through their organization. They focus on giving aid to people with disabilities and to those who are elderly or medically fragile.
